Description: Taekwondo vs Muay Thai at Patong Stadium in Phuket, Thailand on June 6th, 2011. Kwonkicker vs "Tahlon" (spelling?). This is a professional kickboxing bout taking place under Pro Muay Thai rules. Scheduled for 5 rounds, 3-minutes each. Punches, Kicks, Knees, Elbows, Clinch are all permitted. The Taekwondo style used by the fighter in yellow (Kwonkicker) is South Korean Kukkiwon Taekwondo mixed with Power-Era WTF Sport TKD. It was an old Taekwondo sport style that was prominent from the 1980's throughout the late 2000's that employed incredibly fast & powerful kicking techniques, especially spinning techniques. The Power-Era sport style no longer exists, and has been completely replaced with the silly foot-fencing version of sport Taekwondo that you see in modern-day Olympic competition (with the electronic sparring gear). -------------------------------- Subscribe to Kwonkicker for more tutorials with a focus on training Taekwondo & Karate for modern Kickboxing Sports, Muay Thai & MMA.
